Get Involved as an Official!

As you know Swimming Western Australia is placing more emphasis on having club run ini meets during the year to qualify for sanctioned events.

Claremont Aquatic Swimming Club needs your help to officiate these events, and help us to young athletes gain racing experience and qualifcation times.

Officiating is a great way to understand the sport of swimming better and help your children and the club achieve the goal of getting kids to be the best swimmers they can be.

Interested? The first step is to sign up for the Australian Institute of Sport’s online course, Community Officiating Essential Skills and to get yourself a Working with Children’s Check.

Then you’ll need to complete the Foundations of Officiating Workshop, which will give you the knowledge to confidently participate as a trainee at meets, and to put your skills and knowledge into practice as a:

  • Judge of Stroke,

  • Clerk of Course,

  • Inspector of Turns or;

  • Starter.

Every role helps and we greatly appreciate all of those willing to put their hands up!

As a family orientated, friendly swimming club that welcomes and supports swimmers of all ages and abilities, we rely on our parent and carer volunteers to make the magic happen!

If you are interested in becoming an official, and would like to speak to us about it, hit the button below and let us know that role/s you might be interested in pursuing.

I want to help!
